Where do I find the image galleries?
Membership
You don't need to be a member to visit our pages and view the messages posted on our forums or view classified ads. But once you want to start contributing, membership is required. Membership is free and it allows you to create new threads and post comments on our discussion forums, as well as post and edit free classified advertisements or announce events in our events calendar and register. It only takes a few seconds to register. As a member you will also receive the invitations to our frequent community events.

If you have forgotten your login name, please contact an Administrator.
What is the difference between login name and display name?
During registration you chose a login name and a screen name. Most people use the same name for both. However, some might prefer to use an easy-to-remember login name and use a more elaborate name for display name.
How can I change the User name or Screen name?
It is not possible for users to change their usernames or their screen names manually.
How can I change my email address?
1. Log into your account.
2. In the top bar, click on "My Controls"
3. In the column called "Menu", click on "Change Email Address"
How can I change the personal information in my profile?
1. Log into your account.
2. In the top bar, click on "My Controls"
3. In the column called "Menu", click on "Edit Profile information"
Please make sure when you do changes that all fields are filled out. Otherwise the system will not accept and save the changes.
I tried to upload a picture during registration, but it failed. What do I do now?
In all likelihood, you tried to upload a picture that is too large. If this happens it is best to just finish the registration and validate your account, and then upload the picture from your account control panel:
1. Log into your account.
2. In the top bar, click on "My Controls"
3. In the column called "Menu", click on "Change Personal Picture"
Events
I registered for an event. How do I know if I am really signed up?
We create a up-to-date list of participants for each event. To view this, please click on the "See Who's Coming" button on the events page. If you are on the list, you are registered.
Can I post events on the Event Calendar myself?
Yes. Select the calendar from the top right hand side of the forums page, (or from the main page it is in the navigational elements on the left). You need to be logged in to post an event.
When the calendar page comes up, you can add either:
- A new single event - i.e. An event on a single day
- A new ranged event - i.e. An event occurring over a period of days/weeks/months etc
- A new recurring event - i.e. An event occurring on a single day at regular intervals, for example every Wednesday or something like that.
All these options appear in the top right hand corner of the calendar page.
I am interested in an event in the events calendar. Where can I find more information?
Most events in the events calendar are posted by our members and not organized by Newcomers Network. Please contact the community member who posted the event for more information.
Forums
To create a thread, you have to be logged in as a Newcomers-Network member. Once you're logged in, make sure your posting a new thread is relevant: i.e., the information you're about to post is not on other threads. If that's the case, you might consider posting a reply to that thread instead. If no other thread with your topic has already been created, pick the appropriate forum (for example 'Going out in Frankfurt - Rhein - Main' or 'International Clubs & Events') and just click on the "new" button.
Once you're logged in, click on the existing topic you want to contribute to and simply click on the "reply" button.
How can I contact another member?
If you are interested in another person's post on the forums, usually it is considered best conduct to post a reply. However, sometime you might want to get in touch with him/her personally. For this, the system allows members to send personal messages to each other. You can do this by clicking on the members profile and scrolling down the page to "Send Message".
How can I get a picture under my name?
Login to the forums, select My Controls from the top of the page, scroll down the page to Edit Avatar Settings. Your image must be no larger than 90 x 90 pixels and cannot exceed 50 KB.
Classified Ads
After you have logged into the website, you will find a navigation point the top of the Classified Ads "Post Ad"..
Once you click that you will need to chose the category you want your ad to be placed in. On the next screen then, enter the title and the text for your ad and hit "Post Ad".
Your ad is now posted. If you like you can then upload further material like files or pictures.
Next to where it says, "Now logged in as:" you have several options, one of which is "Edit ad(s)". Here you can select which ad you wish to edit.
I am interested in something posted in the classifieds. How do I contact the person who posted it?
Again, you need to be logged in. When you are logged in and view the ad in question you will see a link "Contact seller" at the bottom, which will open a form that allows you to send a message to the person who posted the ad.

The image galleries are part of the forums and linked to the user's account. You will find the Galleries index page here.
