I don't know whether you heard that the Turmpalast might be closing, but I am sure that I am not the only one who thinks that this would be an awful blow to the International Community and all those who prefer to watch movies in their original versions.

There is a sliver of hope now, though: The issue has reached the City council, and some members are now pushing to save the Turmpalast. There is a short article about that (unfortunately in German) here: http://www.frankfurt...?...855&_ffmpar[_id_inhalt]=6454467

I don't know how we personally can support the theatre, other than going to see movies a lot to show that the Turmpalast is appreciated and needed.

There is a bit of good news:

Starting this week, the Metropolis (which is really just a bit further up the street and a much better theatre) is using three of its rooms to show original version. In the program look for movies marked as (OV) or Originalversion

It's not much, but it's better than nothing, and there is hope that if this turns out successful, they might expand this to even more. So use this opportunity to see English language movies in a good theatre!
