Hi all,

We will be moving to Schwickershausen/Bad Camberg on March 11 and apparently, we have been told, that they do not receive cable in that area. The house we will be in, already has a satellite dish on it. Would anyone know who we will need to contact in order to be able to hook this dish up and be able to receive English TV? I have seen lots of information about SKY TV, but am not sure how to go about getting it started.

Thanks
Wendy

Hi

we have a normal digital receiver and get all the Free to Air channels (BBC1/2/3-UTV/ITV123/movie channels/Channel 4 - spanish and French channels etc. You just need to go to your local TV SAT shop and they can install it. It also soes not cost anything per month, unlike sky where you have to buy the card or pay a monthly subscription.

hope this helps!

Denise

We posted an article about this here:

http://www.newcomers...es/radio_tv.php

To receive the UK Astra satitelle with all the free to air programming (BBC, ITV, Channel 4 & 5) you will probably need a 80 cm dish ... not the standard 60 cm dish. The installation company will have to test the reception.

The advantage is what you paid once for the set up and then the programming is free. Sky changes for the one time installation and there is also a monthly free.

Hope this helps

Thanks for the info, now I just have to find a provider in the area of Schwickershausen in order to arrange for the hookup and installation. Any suggestions?
