HSG Wetzlar HSG Wetzlar
The HSG Wetzlar is considered one of the most competitive handball clubs in the world, and the city of Wetzlar is very proud of its team, which has played in the professional league since 1998. HSG plays in the impressive 5,000-seat Rittal arena, which was also the venue for the Handball World Cup in 2007. Although HSG has not yet won the German title, it came very close in 1997 and 2001. www.hsg-wetzlar.de

Gießen 46ers
Ever since the top German basketball league was created in 1966, Gießen's beloved basketball team has been in the first league. Although the team was relegated to the second division in 2012-2013, the team has now rebounded and won a spot again in 2015 in the top tier Bundesliga. The 46ers' home court is the Sport Hall Gießen-Ost, which holds about 4,000 fans who can become quite boisterous. The team is comprised of both German and international players. BC Pharmaserv Marburg - Blue Dolphins
The BC (Basketball Club) Marburg is one of the largest in Mittelhessen. It's excellent professional-league women's team, the Blue Dolphins, was founded in 1992. The team won the German title in 2003 and has a strong fan base in Marburg. www.bc-marburg.de

TV Huettenberg TV Hüttenberg -Handball The handball team of the TV Hüttenberg has established itself as one of the most popular and successful teams in Mittelhessen. Founded in 1969, the team achieved a promotion to the second division in 2003/04 season, and even ascended to the first league in 2011/12. Unfortunately, the team has been relegated to second division, but the next highlight is certainly just around the corner. www.tvh1.de

RSV Lahn-Dill
Wetzlar's most successful professional team is the wheelchair basketball team RSV Lahn-Dill. The RSV has won every title possible, including seven German titles, four European championships and the 2010 World Cup title in Japan. Several of their players competed in the 2012 Paralympics and won the gold medal. The sports club RSV was founded in 1983 and has been one of the leaders in offering sports for disabled persons. Our Featured Event

The 2019 Newcomers Festival will be held on Sunday 8 Sept. at Frankfurt’s City Hall (Römer). This annual event attracts over 5,000 international visitors, up to 60 exhibitors (companies, clubs, organizations).
