Just by the river north of Alt-Sachsenhausen, Ambassel offers traditional Ethiopian cuisine and joins the growing population of African restaurants in Frankfurt. Dishes can be shared by up to five people and are arranged on a big plate covered by a large basket. The pancake base is used to shovel the food into your mouth, and I must say, eating with just your fingers in a public restaurant is a cool experience! Vegetarian options are available, though the list is not that extensive. The restaurant also offers live music for functions and parties to truly capture the atmosphere. |

I'am ethiopian and I must say the food is even better than what my mother is cookin' at home in addis abeba. Despite the fact that Frankfurt has an incredible amount of ethiopian restaurants, Ambassel is the place to go.
