If you walk from the river up into Römerberg, Haus Wertheym is the first Haus you come across. Equally popular with people relaxing over a cool drink, or those famished from long walks along the river. The seats outside provide constant entertainment with the endless stream of tourists and locals alike flooding the square. If I could have one criticism it would be that inside, they seem to have gone to the extreme in hanging up objects and photos etc. There is hardly any space on the walls or ceilings visible. On first visit, the inside can get a bit claustrophobic as you feel everything is a bit too cluttered, but then again, given the location it does have to cater for photo-hungry tourists looking for a traditional Wirtshaus. |
