This is my most frequented restaurant in Frankfurt. In the summer it's nice to sit outside and watch the flow of people passing by and far enough from the Zeil so as not to be too crowded. It is at an intersection of two roads but there is not too much traffic. The food is extremely nice and very large servings. There is a beef dish (the name escapes me at the moment) that is served in it's own saucepan and puts large eaters to shame! The menu boasts a large schnitzel selection and all the traditional German delicacies including Pork Knuckle. Although they are open on Sundays I have tried to eat there and found every table filled by a busload of tourists from the nearby Römer, so it is possible the restaurant may be a recommendation by the bus companies as well. They also now offer a 'Breakfast Special' consisting of a hot white wurst with sweet mustard and bread and a small pils for under 5 euros. |
