Vapiano is a chain of what could be called Italian self-service food. You go to the counter, get your food, sit down do eat - and then pay on your way out. It almost sounds like fast food, but I really hesitate to call it that. It's just too good.

There is pizza and all kinds of pasta available. Of the two I definitely recommend the pasta more - which doesn't mean the pizza is bad, though, just that the pasta is better. Everything is prepared right there in front of your eyes as you order it, so special wishes and the occasion joke and chatter with the cook are included. Really, there is a fun factor, too.

The location in Westend is very spacious with a simple and elegant interior, not at all cramped. The tables are far enough apart to comfortably walk between them even when all seats are occupied. There are two outdoor areas, one in front and a smaller one in the back.
