Just off the Fressegasse this charming wine cellar is a welcomed change to the standard German restaurants offered on the tourist strip. As the name suggests it is very focused on its wine menu which is quite extensive yet not that expensive. Most were available by the glass as well so there are always plenty to try. The food menu is a little different than what appears on the website, and we even found a few more choices on the German menu than on the English menu, yet was quite nice. Don't be expecting too much from the mixed cheese and olive selection, as it was just two varieties. Again, as the name indicates you sit in an old style cellar, complete with old wine barrels lining the walls. The waitress was very friendly and all together we had a very nice meal and enjoyed several bottles of German wines. |
