Established in 2004, the accadis International School Bad Homburg offers classes for children from nursery school through secondary school in a multi-lingual and multi-cultural setting. accadis encompasses a preschool from ages 2-5, an elementary school grades 1-4 and a secondary school. In the spring of 2011, accadis ISB moved into a brand new school building in close proximity to its university campus in Bad Homburg. The preschool program largely follows the Early Learning Goals of the British National Curriculum. As a recognized German alternative school, the elementary school adheres to the Hessen state curriculum for grades one to four. It has significantly expanded the curriculum, however, with substantial English language instruction, Spanish starting in Grade 2, Social Studies and Sciences from Grade 1, and expanded Musical Studies. The secondary school offers two different tracks: an expanded Hessen state curriculum leading to a bilingual Abitur, or the International Baccalaureate (IB). Chinese language study is mandatory as of grade 5, so a graduating student will have mastered English, German, Spanish, and Chinese.
