Initially established for the US consular community, the Carl Schurz School is also open to private families, which now make up about 50% of the children. The school is located in Frankfurt-Dornbusch and offers preschool (age 2-4 years), Kindergarten (age 5-6 years), before- and after-school daycare, and nursery (age 6 weeks - 2 years). The school has six classrooms directed by a native-English-speaking teacher and a teacher's aide, and class size does not exceed 15. All classes are taught in English. Tuition for private families ranges from 280 to 655 euros per month.
