ISF International School Frankfurt Rhein-Main was founded in 1995 by the city of Frankfurt, the state of Hessen, and several multinational corporations. With around 850 students from over 50 nations, ISF is a private, full-day school, offering classes from kindergarten (age three) to Grade 12. Located in Frankfurt-Sindlingen - within easy reach of the S1 and S2 train lines - the multi-purpose campus features a theater, a semi-Olympic indoor swimming pool, a large gymnasium, tennis courts and state-of-the-art playing fields and running track, in addition to modern music, art, computing, science and academic facilities. Students may travel to school by train or bus/taxi service provided by a number of dedicated companies. As a member of the global SABIS® school network, ISF offers a curriculum focused on mathematics, English and German. While the main language of instruction is English, German classes are also taught daily to all students (including those in kindergarten) from beginner to native-speaker level. Beginning in Grade 6, students choose French or Spanish as a third language. Native Korean language classes are available from Grades 1 to 12 as well as native Japanese language classes from Grades 9-12. Through the SABIS® Student Life Organization, students learn the importance of being active contributors to their school and community, providing an important social component for students to complement ISF's high academic standards. A wide range of after-school activities is offered including music, drama, art and various competitive and non-competitive sports. Before- and after-school adult supervision is offered as part of ISF's Extended Day-care Program, available each day at no extra cost to students from kindergarten up to grade 6. ISF's goal is for each student to achieve their full potential. The International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) curriculum is offered in grades 9 and 10, followed by the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma, US Advanced Placement (AP) Exams and the ISF High School Diploma. ISF is an accredited member of AdvancED/NCA (North Central Association of Schools and Colleges) and Accreditation International. Additionally, ISF is a regular member of the ECIS (European Council of International Schools), is a Cambridge Examination Centre and an International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) World School.
