Launched in 2009, the Strothoff International School is a private, all-day school and kindergarten for children aged 3 to 18. It is based in Dreieich, about 15 minutes south of Frankfurt. The school is an officially authorized IB World School and it offers the full IB program at all levels: Primary Years (including kindergarten and pre-primary), Middle Years and the IB Diploma Programme. The Strothoff International School not only focuses on attaining high academic standards, but also on the social and emotional development of its students. The school currently has 200 students and plans an enrollment of about 600 at full capacity. English is the main language of instruction, with German introduced as a second language beginning with grade 1 and French or Spanish as a third language beginning with grade 6. Classes are no larger than 20, and there is a separate learning support department for students who are gifted, who are experiencing learning difficulties, or who need help with the English language. The school has a laptop program starting in kindergarten and also offers a broad range of after-school activities, such as dance, music, art, tennis and basketball. Other features include a wide network of partners in the region's business and cultural community, school uniforms, a bistro and shuttle bus service.
