The Rhine-Neckar Metropolitan Region has an extensive network of bike paths along the Neckar and Rhine rivers, through the hills of the Odenwald and along historic wine growing regions of the German Wine Route. Maps are available at bookstores and from most tourist associations. If you want to go yet further afield, the German Federal Railway offers discounted weekend train tickets for biking tour groups. If you prefer more challenging terrain, the paths around "Weise Stein", high above Drossenheim, and "Königstuhl" near Heidelberg might be of interest. Some of the bicycle tours that lead through the Rhine-Neckar Metropolitan Region include:

Cycling along vineyards of the German Wine Route
  • Radweg Deutsche Weinstraße

  • Hessischer Radfernweg R4

  • Neckartal-Radweg

  • Kurpfalzachse

  • Schiller-Radweg

  • Radweg Bergstraße
