Located in the small town about 25 km north to Düsseldorf, the International School Heiligenhaus was founded in 2007. With a curriculum based on the International Baccalaureate, Heiligenhaus currently offers classes from pre-school through grade 3 and eventually through grade 12. Classes are taught in English, with German as the second and French as the third language. Subjects include mathematics, science, information technology, history, geography, religion, music and art. Every child is encouraged to learn a classical musical Instrument and the school makes its premises available for individual music lessons and group practice. The school also offers extracurricular activities such as sports, art and cooking. All children are required to wear school uniform. Tuition ranges from 450 to 750 euros, and scholarships are available. Heiligenhaus is open from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm on all work days. Children can take school buses after parents make an agreement with the school.
