St. George's International School

(Duisburg, Cologne and Aachen)

The St. George's International School is a private, co-educational and non-denominational day school which offers an English curriculum based on the British brand of learning. Family-founded in 1985, St. George's curriculum follows the English National Curriculum, preparing students for both the IB Diploma and the British AS/A-Level Exams. For children age three years and older, the St. George's Nursery School offers a full-day or half-day program with English as the main language of instruction (German lessons are provided for non-German speakers).

"Little Dragons" caters for the under-three year olds in Cologne and Aachen. German is taught as a foreign language and additional foreign language offerings include French and Spanish. Thereafter, pupils enter the Lower School (ages 7-11) program, which is comprised of six 50-minute lessons and structured around the National Curriculum for England and Wales. The Lower School offers several extra-curricular offerings, including sports, music ensembles, dance groups and language clubs, while the Middle School (ages 11-14) offers yet more extra-curricular activities and after-school clubs. Finally, the Upper School (ages 14-18) seeks to provide students with the relevant qualifications for university entrance. Small classes of no more than 20 pupils per class allow for individual attention to be placed on each pupil and his/her academic needs. St. George's offers financial assistance for qualified pupils from Year 2 until Year 5 (ages 6-10). School uniforms are required and cost approximately 200 EUR per set.

St. George's offers boarding for girls and boys starting at age 11 in the purpose-built boarding house, which is part of the Cologne campus. Pupils share double rooms with en-suite bathrooms. A family-like atmosphere, qualified and British-trained House Parents, individual academic support and pastoral care, lifelong friendships and supervised, weekend activities are all part of Germany's first and only English International Boarding School. Full, weekly and flexi-boarding is available.

Dear Soumya,

Your son would be in our Reception now by age.
The school isn't too far away from Düsseldorf Main Station. Best is you take the S1 Direction Duisburg, get off "Im Schlenk" from where it is a 5 minute walk to school.

Yours sincerely,
Mrs. R. Brunck

Thanks
